solo trombonist at the SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden and Freiburg
Kühnl & Hoyer developed in collaboration with the solo trombonist of the Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden and Freiburg, Mayumi Shimizu, a Bb/F-tenor trombone exclusively for the Japanese market. Basic model of this particular Bb/F-tenor trombone is the model Bb/F-tenor trombone “Bolero” 8th style of the Bolero-edition.
Like all K & H instruments the Bb/F-tenor trombone “M`s” is also elaborated with an unique precision and thought to the smallest detail. Mayumi Shimizu studied under Prof. Branimir Slokar at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg trombone and graduated with honors. In her young career she worked already for several international orchestras (she was solo trombonist at the Bruckner Orchestra Linz from 2009-2012) and was able to bring her experience in the development of this exclusive Bb/F-tenor trombone.
By the 8th style and the additional K-brace the trombone model “M’s” with “Hagmann” valve has a unique and exceptional design. The combination of gold brass bell and brass slide provide the special sound. The specially developed slide lock for this trombone model also underlines the unique perfection of this instrument.
